Today we went to the doctors for my 9 month check up, yea I know only about 3 weeks late. The doctor said I was doing great and as cute as can be, of course. Fortunately there were no shots or blood work this time. Unfortunately I get 3 shots, oral Polio and a blood work up for my birthday. I was actually really good at the doctors office this time too, until I choaked on a piece of the paper that lines the table. I only gagged and spit up a lil, Im okay. Well, its bedtime again. Keep an eye out for some new pictures, probably tomorrow.

Weight: 20 lbs. 4 oz (50-60 percentile)
Height: 29 inches (75 percentile) Doc said "Wow! Your a tall boy"

Fun Day!
Hi!
Yesterday we had a lot of fun! We went to the Ferndale Funky Art Festival and just down the street was the DIY Street Fair. They both were really cool and are held annually, not sure if they are on the same weekend every year though. I suggest everyone check them out next year though. There was this really good Michigan based artist named Stephen Kade at the Ferndale Funky Fest, he painted illustration art ie. cartoons. There were two really cool monkey astronaut painting's that dad wanted to get prints off but they were kinda pricey. Apparently he also does illustrations of kids, so mom and dad are going to find out if they can commission him to paint me as a monkey.

Heritage Park
Yesterday we went to Heritage Park for a little walk before bedtime. There was a lot of ducks there. I loved the ducks so much! I couldnt stop screaming, giggling and waving my hands at them. Next time we go, I'll feed them one of my teething cookies since I started eating those a few days ago.
Halloween Store
Today we went to the Halloween store. They didnt have the costume that mom and dad want me to wear, so I guess they decided to cook up a batch of Balyn Stew.

Vocabulary
Today I added a large word to my vocabulary. Let me tell you the back story before I tell you the new word I spoke. There is a new show on PBS called "Dinosaur Train". The theme song is pretty repetitive and quiet boring. You know, one of those songs you cant get out of your head and you can only remember the simplest part. Well for the last week of so dada and mama have been repetitively singing to me "Dinosaur Train, riding riding riding riding, Dinosaur Train!". Normally when they sing this to me I just head bang and wiggle a little bit however this morning I had a surprise up my sleeve. When mama ans dada were both singing the Dinosaur Train song to me, I responded with a great big DINOSAUR! It obviously wasn't spoken as clearly as typed but I definitely said it and it wasn't only the one time. I'm sure anyone with a keen ear and a good sense for baby talk would've known what I was saying. Well I'm getting sleepy now, so I think I will take a nap. Talking
Here is a list of the words that I can currently say:
Mama (Saying this since 5 months old. Understood what it meant around 6 months)
Dada (Started saying this around 7 1/2-8 months)
Baba (Started saying this around the same time as Dada and usually in conjunction with it. As in "Dada, Baba?")
Elmo ( Ive been saying this infrequently since around 8 months, screamed it a few days ago at the halloween costume store when I saw an Elmo costume. I also started to cry when we walked away, I really wanted that costume. Ma and Pa want me to be a monkey this halloween though.)

Growth Update
Hey Everyone,
Just dropping in to give you an update on how I'm progressing in life. Where to start? Hmmm... Well I guess I will start with my teeth. I currently have 3 bottom teeth and 1 top tooth, however there is another top tooth starting to come in. My three newest teeth all came in together with this 4th one following all within the last 4-6 weeks, so its been non stop teething for a while now. It hurt so bad that I started chewing on my crib, mama and dada must not have liked that because they put this silicone protector stuff on the railings so I wouldn't eat anymore of the wood. Now, onto mobility. I have mastered crawling, but most of the time I will crawl a few feet, try to stand up, fall back onto my hands and repeat. So, Im not the fastest crawler yet, but that's mostly because I'm trying to walk instead. I'm also pulling myself onto things such as couches and chairs and walking while holding on to them, I am really good at this! I can also walk slowly if mama or dada hold my hands above my head. On to height and weight. At this point I have to be at least 24 lbs. and right around 28-29 inches. I go to the doctor on Monday or Tuesday coming up so I will give an accurate update then. I can tell you that I'm getting so big I'm already wearing 12 months clothing and will probably need to go up to 18 months for my winter clothes. Well, I better let dada get to sleep I'm sure something interesting will happen in the next few days if not mama or dada will at least add some pictures in the days to come. We are going to try and add atleast one story a day so you will be able to enjoy those funny little things that happen throughout our day along with the sad, painful, boring, odd, gross or anything else that we think is worth sharing. We will also post videos and/or pictures atleast weekly probably on sunday's if we can and maybe more often if there is something either of us think can't wait. In addition to the stories, videos and random pictures we are also going to decide on one nice pose that we both like and take a picture everyweek in this pose so you can truly watch Balyn grow. Finally, everything from now on will be posted from Balyn's point of view. This will make an easier transition when he learns how to type and wants to add content of his own. Take care everyone and check in often to read my everyday adventures and to watch me grow!
